By invitation of the Secretary of State in Science, Technology and Higher Learning, FUTURE PLACES will be present at Portugal Tecnológico and Forum Ciência Viva, events taking place at the International Lisbon Fair. The Festival will hold a showcase of awarded installations and performances and will present the documentary video of its first edition.

Artech continues the debate on Digital Media in Porto

Following their generous input during the Future Places festival, the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University hosts ARTECH, 4th International Conference on Digital Arts. Outcomes from the Interface Design for Mobile Devices Workshop

An outcomes document from the Interface Design for Mobile Devices workshop is now available [5.7 MB PDF].
Teams developed projects in user interface design and information structures for using mobile devices to explore a physical location, the Serralves Foundation in Porto. The workshop was held October 7-9 at Serralves as part of the Future Places festival.

Online exhibition catalog available.

Marking the closing of the exhibition, the Future Places 2008 exhibition catalog is now online. It is a wiki, meaning applicants are themselves responsible for the content of their own pages. We are still awaiting a few contributions, and the jury will insert comments soon. So check often.
